Web Hosting - Know Your Way Through The Intricacies Of Getting Cheap Web Hosting
by admin on Sep.08, 2010, under Uncategorized
Almost all businesses can make good use of a website these days. But finding an affordable, and good, website hosting company is not as easy as it may seem.
At one end of the spectrum you can find a host that will charge you nothing each month. However, they may have higher setup fees and will post advertising on your site. At the other end, your space and speed requirements may be so severe that you will need a state of the art dedicated server.
Fees and rates vary considerably so be sure you understand the entire package, not just the monthly fee. Check also the maintenance fees, domain name registration fees, and website design assistance fees. They all add up. The goal is to get, and pay for, what you need but only what you need.
Be careful that you are getting the space you need and that more space is available at reasonable rates for your future growth. You’ll need a minimum of 50 gigabytes (GB.) If your allowable bandwidth is too small, your speed will suffer. One GB is the starting point. If you require FTP protocol, check carefully as it is not always available. Your web host needs to accept the file size you need for uploading. Be sure that your web host supports the same database, script and programming languages that you will use.
Also take a look at the reliability of your potential web host’s system. This is often not easy information to obtain but likely critical to your success. For example, if all you need is a simple website for your personal profile, you can probably stand a little down time. But if you are engaged in high volume selling even a little down time may be very costly.
Do you plan to have complex graphics or animations? These take more space and need more speed.
If your site accepts sensitive information you will need advanced security features. Personal identification, medical or financial data all need to be protected.
Will you be selling products on your site? If so, in addition to security, you will most likely need an order processing system and perhaps a customer service system. You also need an extremely reliable web host to ensure that you suffer minimal downtime.
Will your site be accessible to employees and customers for order placing, order tracking, inventory figures and the like? Again, high security is called for and probably substantial space.
Always check the creditability of the web host you decide to go with. Having a web site that is down a lot is useless especially if you are trying to run a business. This can be very frustrating to you and your customers. Stay up with today’s internet market by owning your own web site for very little money. The truth is that most people check the internet first for the products and services they need

Deciding On A Website Hosting Company - Helpful Tips
by admin on Sep.08, 2010, under Uncategorized
It seems like any industry nowadays makes use of the power of having a website. Because of this, there are currently numerous existing website hosting companies. They’re the companies who give websites their respective slots in cyberspace, enabling them to be accessed by surfers.
Regardless of the kind of webpage you own, you need to have a reputable web host. There are some things which have to be taken into consideration before agreeing to one. Your decision should be based on the needs of the kind of webpage you wish to put up online.
Try to visit the sites of as many web hosting companies as you can. Study their terms and conditions, as well as the kind of services they offer. The rates are based on the package that you choose. Because there are currently a lot of existing companies, they offer affordable rates to attract business.
It’s best if a particular company provides user reviews which you can read on its page. Such will give you an idea, more or less, of the service you’re going to have eventually. Likewise, you may drop by forums to get further opinions from webmasters.
Which package to go for depends on what features your site needs. For example, if it contains many photographs, videos and other content, go for a package which offers large disk space and bandwidth. Consider such as a sound investment, in case your webpage is likely to undergo expansion in the future.
Find out how many webmasters will share a common server. To get an estimation of how fast your site is loaded by a browser, find out how many of you will share the server. Some search engines penalize the entire server if one is about gambling, porn, etc. Large sites can affect the performance of the server, making yours slower, try to gauge who you will be hosted with.
Going for free hosting is good enough if your online site is for personal purposes only. However, for a business, regardless of scale, going for paid one is preferable. First, no ads, banners and pop ups will be added to your site. Also, you may have your own domain name, e-mail boxes and other benefits.
Another thing you should look for when choosing a website hosting company is technical support. Check out how fast you get a reply by sending them an e-mail. You may also try calling the phone number on their website, especially during non office hours, to see how efficient the feature is.

TMDHosting Suck At Hosting
by admin on Sep.03, 2010, under Uncategorized
I do not usually write reviews on products or companies, but I just thought I would let everyone know that if you are looking for a hosting company then you MUST avoid using TMD Hosting.
The reason I say this is as follows, we were hosting a few Wordpress MU installs with them and then they reached 300 blogs which is really not alot. It was actually of a shared hosting account with them, so they suspended the unlimited package and said that in order to get back online we would need to upgrade to a vps to handle the MU installs. So we decided to upgrade to their most powerful VPS at around $80 per month.
A calendar month later they determine to again freeze the VPS and now say we must upgrade to a dedicated server. Enough is enough these are basic wordpress MU sites with only 300 blogs. So we just told them to shut the sites down and refund our remaining money because we paid for 3 months upfront on theirrecommendationthat the VPS was the suitable choice. They then said that they would not refund the remaining money simply because we had used too much resources, when it was them that recommended the VPS initially.
So we have basically been left out of pocket by TMD Hosting and besides that we have also lost our sites that we built up over a period of a year. They always try to make out that the user is in the wrong even though we pay our hosting fees monthly without a problem.
I know that hosting companies do tend to lie about their packages selling unlimited etc, but TMD Hosting totally go past that and cut the site off even when hardly nothing is being used. This hosting company really does not care about anything except money and I would warn anyone who is going to host with them to think again big time, they may promise you all theseextravagantpackages but when it comes down to it they will cut you off and keep your money unless you upgrade.
